The members of the state Duma Committee on civil society development issues, public and religious associations will soon introduce a bill giving the opportunity to non-profit organizations (NPOs), including political parties hold conventions in correspondence mode. “After consultations with representatives of leading NGOs, the Committee developed a legislative initiative aimed at providing the possibility of holding congresses of NGOs in correspondence mode, by using, for example, video. This will help the development of civil society in the context of a pandemic,” said Gavrilov, adding that the bill will be introduced in the near future.
According to him, in connection with the coronavirus pandemic of the Congress of NGOs, including political parties, poses a risk of spreading disease.
