Weekend visitors or residents of the capital and its surroundings? Le Point has selected six outing ideas in and around Paris for the Pentecost weekend, on June 4, 5 and 6!

From Friday 3 to Sunday 5 June 2022, the Rendez-vous aux jardins, organized by the Ministry of Culture, return to 2,200 parks and gardens, public and private, in France. On the program: guided tours, exhibitions, activities, workshops and meetings with, this year, a major theme: “Gardens facing climate change”.

In Paris, you can enjoy the entertainment and admire the magnificently flowered gardens of the Rodin Museum, the Cité Universitaire, the Museum of Romantic Life, the Parc Monceau, the Guimet Museum, the Palais de Tokyo and even the Domaine National du Palais- Royal.

On Friday June 3, as part of the Quartier du Livre festival and the 116th birthday of the icon of the Roaring Twenties, Joséphine Baker (1906-1975), the town hall of the 5th arrondissement of Paris and the Panthéon called on the French artist Gwendoline Finaz de Villaine to celebrate the event. More than six months after the entry of the music hall artist, resistance fighter and anti-racist activist into the Pantheon, the street artist offers an incredible fresco portrait of 1,000 m², designed like a giant puzzle whose pieces will be offered to the audience.

In these inflationary times, it is important to understand the economic mechanisms of our systems… The City of the Economy, or Citéco, is there to explain everything to you! Inaugurated on May 15, 2019 within the sublime Hôtel Gaillard, a long-time branch of the Banque de France in the 17th arrondissement, this museum is an educational place where the economic notions of daily life and current events are explained, in a fun way. The visit is also worth the detour to discover the old vault and this architectural gem.

This Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 June, in addition to the many guided tours organized, workshops “Make your ticket!” are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. for children.

Like a number of Parisian museums, the Museum of the Great War is free this first Sunday of the month. In addition to the 70,000 objects and documents retracing the daily life of combatants and civilians from 14-18, you can see reproductions of dressed soldiers and horses, as well as very realistic reconstructions of the trenches (with smells and noises) .

From Sunday June 5 to Saturday July 2, come and enjoy the fountains, waterfalls and ponds at the Domaine de Saint-Cloud, a 460-hectare park labeled “Remarkable Garden”. You will appreciate the sublime Florentine fountains of the 18th century and the superb staging of the gardens of André Le Nôtre which has been perpetuated since Louis XIV.

From May 15 to October 15, go to the butterfly garden of the Parc Floral de Paris for a gentle stroll in the heart of a 200 m² greenhouse filled with butterflies and small living insects. This structure on the diversity of species and urban environments is located in pavilion 6 of the floral park.
