End clap for Léa Salamé. According to information from our colleagues from Télérama, the journalist has decided to no longer ensure the presentation of the political program broadcast on Thursday evening by France 2. Arrived in 2016 alongside David Pujadas, with the Political Program, this one had remained on the slot without interruption, over the different versions broadcast by the second channel: You have the floor, Élysée 2022 or France 2022 for the most recent. Without Léa Salamé’s decision having yet been made public, the journalist would have informed the management of the public channel of her choice. Reason given by Léa Salamé: to take care of her morning interview on France Inter and her Saturday evening talk show on France 2.

Indeed, for a year, she co-hosted – with Laurent Ruquier – the show We are live. The one who embodied this slice for more than fifteen seasons decided to stop a few weeks ago. Léa Salamé should keep this box. The details of this new show are not yet known.

“Nothing has been decided yet”, we say on the side of the management of France Télévisions. As the return to school in September, synonymous with the airing of a new schedule, is approaching, a track is currently being studied to fill this vacant position. In all likelihood, Caroline Roux could well be the one with the best chance of taking the place of the France Inter interviewer. And for good reason, she is experienced in the exercise of the political interview. After Canal, she has been at the head of the flagship political sequence of the Télématin show, Les 4 Vérités, for several seasons. In addition, the journalist also hosts the France 5 decryption program, C dans l’air.

This is not the first time that the name of Caroline Roux has been circulating for a political program on France 2. Indeed, during the intervening rounds of the presidential campaign, her name had been – for a time – mentioned to participate to the debate between Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron. In the game of musical chairs, Thomas Sotto – current weekday presenter of the morning show of France 2 – could take charge of the sequence of the 4 truths… However, nothing has been finalized yet. Contacted, all of the protagonists cited declined to comment.

It must be said that the atmosphere is very tense in the public audiovisual group. On June 23, journalists from the group’s editorial offices – France 2, France 3 and France Info – decided to put to the vote the possibility of a motion of no confidence in the direction of information, embodied by Laurent Guimier. At the same time, France Télévisions is torn by more political issues. Indeed, the government intends to eliminate the audiovisual contribution, of 138 euros, by the end of the year. A disappearance that makes the employees of the group fear less independence.
