Tunisian actor Hichem Rostom, who had starred in famous films like The English Patient or The Wing or the Thigh, died on Tuesday at the age of 75, the Tunisian Ministry of Culture announced. This doctor in literature and theater history began his career as an artist more than 50 years ago and participated in dozens of Tunisian, French, Italian, English and German films. He did his graduate studies in France where he worked as an animator at the National Popular Theater, before embarking on cinema, landing roles in several films, including L’Aile ou la Cuisse alongside Louis de Funès (1976) . After returning to Tunisia in 1988, he starred in several successful films and television series. In Tunisia, he was considered the most famous actor of his generation.
